discover the steps be taken to create a self-sustaining ecosystem of vitality on our homestead

Homestead Tour Includes:
What to expect of the Guided Farm Tour:
• tour of the dairy goat barn, milking parlour & learn about products made with our goats milk
• Snuggle, pet, feed goat “candy” and find our Goat of the Month while you romp & play in the outdoor goat playground (pasture) or inside their warm pens (if its raining)
• Get a big cow-lick from Blossom, our sweet jersey cow
• feed treats to Pumpkin and her spring litter of piglets (expected June 2022) and learn why kunekunes are the perfect homestead pig
• sign with the alpacas or groom & take a pony ride (choose between pony rides OR alpaca walks – TBD)
• peek into the chicken coop & search for eggs
• feed treats to our fluffy rabbits and meet their baby bunnies (seasonal)
Time to Explore – the Forest:
• a challenging scavenger hunt featuring things to “see” & collect while exploring the winding trails of the Carolinian Forest (approximately 1 km)
• find out whose living at the “Froggie Boggie Boardwalk” during each season
• explore the diversity of native trees in southwestern Ontario and discuss how to properly manage a healthy forest
• see evidence of large and small wildlife living in our local woodlands
• explore this unique ecosystem that functions independent yet see how its intricately linked to our farmland via creeks, wildlife and crops
• observe the seasonal changes in forestland visitors as we explore winding trails, ravines and creek
• romp and play at our Woodland Adventure Playground while adults relax and recover
• Enjoy a group campfire and *Hotdog Roast following your Forest Tour
Duration: 2 – 2.5 hours

Things to Note:
- This is an active outdoor Event that runs year-round
- Dress according to weather conditions (sunhat, raincoat, sunscreen, etc).
- Wear appropriate walking shoes or boots (closed-toe ONLY).
- Strollers or carriers may be helpful for some areas of the tour.
- We offer customized tours (downsized) for seniors, so please ask!
