Nubian Girls

Maple

JIREH HILLS MAPLE – GN134891

Maple is the “Queen” of the herd. She is a solid girl with a black coat and a copper undertone that shimmers in the sunlight (reminds you of maple syrup!). She loves attention and will stand beside you, rubbing your arm until you pet her. If you happen to be the first one to show her attention, she will stick to you like glue. Maple is not shy (at all!), and she likes to tell the rest of the goat-girls what to do! She gives us loads of milk and usually gives birth to boys (like, every time!).

Clara

CRISTAL SS CLARA – CN138421

Clara is a bigger girl with a white belt with black spots on her underbelly that makes her look like a Holstein?? cow. She is usually quiet and loves to be milked. She doesn’t always warm up to strangers right away, but if you have treats, she quickly gets over her shyness! She is best friends with Clava, so you will usually find them together.

Clava

CRISTAL SS CLAVA – CN138422

Clava is also a bigger girl with a beautiful white belt and a lovely white face. She has small horn nubs that remain from her younger years, but she never uses them to hurt anyone. She is best friends with Clara (you can hardly tell them apart, so you have to remember that Clava has the white face), and they are usually hanging out together. She is not shy, but usually waits to check you out first before she rushing in. Another great goat on the milkstand, Clava gives us lots of milk volume and will usually milk for the longest season.

Licorice

JIREH HILLS MILK WHEY – N142470

A step-sister to Maple (same mothers from a different season), but Licorice is NOTHING like Maple! Very quiet and easy-going, you may actually forget that she is standing around. Very affectionate and loves attention, however, Licorice will not compete with the bigger girls. A lovely black coat with white moon spots, we are always excited to see if her kids will carry her spots! A long season milker, and I have fond memories of her providing milk for our youngest daughter, Myra, when she had to be weaned earlier than expected for health reasons on mama’s end. Licorice provided EXACTLY the amount of fresh and nutritious milk each day that Myra needed that winter! What a blessing she was!

Blossom

CRISTAL C EHLIA – CN145618

A daughter to Clava, Blossom has the same white face, but she carries a brown coloured base coat all over. She is a calm and quiet girl who enjoys 1-on-1 attention and rarely competes with the bigger and older mamas. She is a great mama to her kids and has never been one to cause problems.

Daphne

THISTLEROCK KC DEBORAH – N142699

Daphne arrived here from a loving home with her companion Daisy. Being raised by children, she fit in here right away with our human family. She has a unique coloured coat that almost looks blue in the sunlight. It’s technical name is merled. Always a bit of an ‘odd’ girl, Daphne mostly keeps to herself and is easily bossed around by the rest of the herd. But, she’s a big girl and doesn’t let it bother her too much. We like to call her the ‘polite’ goat, who uses her manners and lets the other girls eat first! Daphne gives us buckets of milk after kidding and keeps up the milking pace for several months.

Daisy

THISTLEROCK REGAN’S DARAH – N142701

Daisy is a free-spirited girl who is either hanging out with Daisy or keeping to herself. She has a shiny, solid dark-brown coat and a super easy-going temperament. She’s a great mama to her kids and delivers easily without assistance, in fact, she even joined in on a Goat Keeping Class and delivered her kid for everyone to see!

Bambi

JIREH HILLS LICORICE’S ROOT – N152440

Bambi, daughter of Licorice, carries her mama’s white spots. She is a larger framed girl with a gentle personality like her mama. She hangs out mostly with her friends, Fawn and Dolly. They keep out of trouble most of the time. Bambi will be a foundational part of our mini-nubian herd starting in spring 2020. Can’t wait!

Fawn

JIREH HILLS IVY’S FINAL FAWN – GN152439

Fawn, daughter to our very first miking goat, Ivy. Ivy has since moved on, but we kept her daughter, Fawn, as we loved her temperament and milking volume. Fawn will also be a foundational part of our mini-nubian herd this spring, 2020.

Dolly

JIREH HILLS DOLLY – N154632

Dolly was a special girl, right from day one! Born premature and so tiny, we actually didn’t think she was going to survive. But, our animal loving daughter, Ava, stuck with her (yes, she slept in our house!), and bottle fed her until she was strong enough to stand and suck on her own. Dolly is a sweet girl and we are looking forward to seeing her birth her first mini-nubian this spring 2021.
